开学≠open school
开学正确的表达是school opens或者school begins 开学意味着师生都返校了，所以开学也可以用back to school代替。
去上学 ≠go to the school
go to the school更准确的意思是去学校 如果用了冠词“the”，就表示某个特定的地方。不加，则表示抽象意义，去上学应该是go to school
母校 ≠mother school
虽然说祖国是motherland，但母校的英文可不是mother school！母校的正确表达是：alma mater [ˈɑlmə ˈmɑːtər]。“母校”还可以说成one's old school.
母语 ≠mother language
直译成mother language，也不是不能理解，但不准确。外国人常用native language来表示掌握得最好的语言。
